Over the weekend we celebrated life together as a family...Jude turning three, Dylan turning one, and our newest little addition growing fast and due in November! (the pic below says more...) It was a special celebration blessed in so many significant ways. God took care of all the little details and used the hands and talents of all of the amazing people in our life to make it all complete. We feel so humbled for the gracious and merciful gifts God has allowed in our life. All the glory goes to Him! Here are some pics that tell the story! (and thanks to Samantha Bird for taking these pics and sharing them with us!)

Tonight we got to spend this evening with these fabulous people pictured above! The Mercer Family and the Douglas Family joined us for dinner and it was so refreshing to spend time with them and share a meal. There's nothing like good friends and good food! The Mercers are here on furlough from Hungary and will be returning to their home there in just a couple weeks. It'd be great to have them close by for good, but their ministry in Hungary is a pretty amazing thing! I woke up today knowing that it's one of my best friend's bdays and I'm reminded of all of the blessings that have come from her life and her testimony as a woman who loves God. The gift of a good friend in this life is something that should never be taken for granted. A priceless gift of relationship that goes far beyond even the ties of bloodand obligation that we call family. To choose a friend to go through life with speaks boldly of deep trust and faith in another. You work hard to establish roots that go deep and are nourished by the process of time, laughter, common ground, hardship, ease, and tears. Once roots are firmly in place...you can weather any storm. Storms of distance and of weird traits, of mistakes and unforeseen trials. The ebb and flow of true friendship washes up along our lives in a constant tide of renewal and undiscovered strength. For this I am thankful. For my friends, I am thankful. (and Happy Birthday Shell!)

Wow. Our life is crazy busy. Crazy full of energy. Crazy beautiful. =) God is so good in blessing us beyond what we ever could have planned and for that we are beyond thankful. Our only hope is that these abundant blessings are flowing back into the lives of those around us and bringing Him glory. We are a work in progress for sure...but each day brings new ways to remember our creator and give Him much deserved thanks. "Perhaps the best way to apply the doctrine of God’s goodness is to live a perpetually thankful life (1 Thess. 5:18). In doing so we will honor Him who gave His Son for us — the greatest expression of mercy and kindness the world has ever known" (Quoted from A Holy Experience).

Our easter was relaxed and simple...as any holiday should be! Church in the morning followed by a brunch at our home with family and friends. Jude had fun playing with some easter eggs in the backyard.

A good phrase to describe our phase of life right now is "on the go!". Jude is almost 2-yrs.-old and constantly on the go...exploring, running, climbing, you name it! It's a wonderfully challenging and exciting time of life and we are enjoying it more each day.

Yesterday, Jude Evans turned 11 months old. He stood up in his crib all by himself to celebrate the event...he didn't seem to care that he was supposed to be taking a nap. ;) Notice also a pic of Jude and his crew...we're not a big stuffed animal fans (at all!), but these guys made the cut and Jude loves to play with them when he wakes up. I'd say 4 stuffed animals is enough for this little guy...here are a couple articles on children and consumerism and materialism, something we are striving against as a family!

Jude is growing into quite the joyful little boy...some of his favorite pastimes include: reading, posing for the camera (obviously!), jumping in his johnny jump-up, drinking from a cup (or at least getting super excited about it and dumping the water all over himself), eating all kinds of homemade fruits and veggies, laughing, and just hanging out with people. These next few months are going to be an adventure as he is on the verge of so many things, wow...we can't wait, God is so good!

Week 29

Up-date: We are @ week 29 in the pregnancy and everything is going fabulous! The baby is a good size, his/her heartbeat is strong and steady, the names have been picked, and the nursery is in the works! Some friends are requesting belly shots, just haven't been posting any, sorry...but no worries, the belly is getting nice and large and I am adequately uncomfortable for the stage I'm in. Absolutely no complaints though, this pregnancy is a blessing beyond words and I'm savoring every second of it. Perhaps I'll stop being camera shy and post a few belly shots in the days to come...you'll just have to stay tuned. =)

We are re-designing our back room and slowly but surely, it's coming together! This is our new couch, you'd think it was designed just for this space. We love it.
