A Taste of DE History

Last evening we attended an open house reception at the newly restored Blue Ball Barn of Wilmington, DE. This old building was built as a dairy farm for A.I. DuPont's family in 1914. It was named after the Blue Ball Tavern, which had been located near the property and was abandoned later due to the expanding growth of Rt. 202. And now, years later, restoration has come and it has been beautifully re-created as the home to the DE folk art collection. It was also built as a Green Building and is ecological and resource efficient! We enjoyed a taste of DE history and the taste of great food because it is... Wilmington Restaurant Week ! So we stayed out on the town and enjoyed dinner at the Iron Hill Brewery on the Riverfront. Good times were had by all, I recommend the Four Cheese and Woodland Mushroom Lasagna...delicious!
